Hagar Township, MI

Hagar Township, along with the GIS team from Wightman, has initiated a project to modernize the records for the Lake Shore, Curtis and Harris cemeteries.

The project, once completed, will enable staff to visualize plots digitally, with the ability to place a location with a name.  Additional benefits include visualizing capacity to better plan for growth needs.

The final stages of the project will enable the records to be available beyond the limits of the Township Hall, creating a space where citizens and the public researching history or genealogy can independently locate loved ones. 

The last portions of Lakeshore Cemetery to be mapped by the end of Summer and the project is anticipated to be complete in late 2022.
