Township Treasurer

The Township Treasurer statutory responsibilities:
Collection of real and personal property taxes

Deposits Township revenues in approved depositories
Invests township funds in approved investment vehicles
Collection of mobile home specific tax and special assessments

Additional responsibilities of the Treasurer's office:

  • Processing Landfill Passes (Redeemable at Orchards Landfill April 1st thru October 31st - one per residence)
  • Processing Address Changes for Tax Bills - request must be submitted in writing
  • Inquiries on balances owed for current year tax bills - questions on prior year delinquent bills must be addressed to County Treasurer Office (269-983-7111)
  • Processing of Dog Licenses - December 1st thru February 28th.  Residents must have correct paperwork validating up-to-date vaccinations and License Renewal form from Berrien County Animal Control.  Additional information on requirements can be found on the Berrien County Animal Control website.  
2021 Summer Taxes were mailedon July 1, 2021 and are due on September 14, 2021.  Summer taxes paid after the due date have 1% interest added for September and an additional 1% interest on the first day of each month thereafter until February 28, 2022.  After March 1, 2022, taxes are turned over for payment to Berrien County Treasurer's Office and will have penalty and interest Due.

Taxes are payable by check or by cash.  Credit Card payments are not accepted.  We cannot accept post-dated checks or hold checks to cash at a later date.
